1. Power switch
The power switch is used to turn the printer on and off. The printer's power switch is located on the left side of the printer. Pressing the "-" button turns the printer on; pressing the "+" button turns it off.If you press "O", the printer will be turned off.
Note (1) Turn on the switch only after the power supply is connected.

2. Buttons and indicator lights

Button and indicator light function description:

FEED button: Paper feed button
In standby mode, pressing the paper feed button feeds paper continuously. During printing, the paper feed button is ineffective.
Press and hold this button before powering on the printer to perform a self-test after power-on.
POWER light (blue): Power indicator
The light stays on after the power is connected.
ERROR light (red): Error indicator
The printer flashes an error indicator, such as a paper shortage, paper jam, printhead overheating, printhead error, or other abnormalities.
PAPER light (red): Paper detection indicator
The paper detection indicator light stays on when the printer is out of paper or when paper is running low. It turns off when the paper out sensor detects paper.
Audible and visual alarm lights (red, green, blue):
An optocoupler and a light, along with a buzzer, are added to the front cover of the printer. When the printer has a menu item that has not been removed, the optocoupler senses that there is paper and immediately activates the light and buzzer to remind the user to remove the order. After the paper is removed, the light and buzzer stop working.

3. Set printer mode

The 820 printer has default settings at the factory. However, these settings can be changed for specific user needs. Use the DIP switches on the bottom of the printer to adjust the settings.
The functions of each DIP switch are set as follows:

4. Printer self-test

The self-test function can check whether the printer is working properly. If it can correctly print the self-test checklist, it means that the printer is working properly except for the connection interface with the host computer. Otherwise, it needs to be repaired.
The self-test will print out the software version number, print density, interface type, and English and some Chinese characters in sequence.

The self-test operation method is as follows:

After connecting the printer, press and hold the paper feed button and then turn on the printer power. The printer will first perform a reset test. After the reset is complete, release the paper feed button in less than 5 seconds. The printer will then perform a self-test and print out a self-test checklist.
