    Cleaning method for RP820 thermal receipt printer

    1. Clean the print head
    The print head should be cleaned if any of the following conditions occur with the printer:
    (1) The printing is unclear;
    (2) A certain column of the printed page is not clear in the vertical direction;
    (3) The paper feeding noise is loud.
    The printhead cleaning steps are as follows:
    (1) Turn off the printer power, open the top cover, and remove the paper if it is on.
    (2) If printing has just finished, wait for the print head to cool down completely;
    (3) Use a soft cotton cloth dampened with anhydrous ethanol (wrung out) to wipe away dust and stains from the surface of the print head;
    (4) After the anhydrous ethanol has completely evaporated, close the top cover and test print again.
    2. Clean the sensor
    When the printer exhibits one of the following conditionsWhen necessary, the paper shortage sensor should be cleaned.
    (1) During the printing process, the printer occasionally stops printing and alarms that it is out of paper;
    (2) No alarm is triggered when paper is out of paper.
    The paper shortage sensor cleaning steps are as follows:
    (1) Turn off the printer power, open the top cover, and remove the paper if it is on.
    (2) Use a soft cotton cloth dampened with anhydrous ethanol (wrung out) to wipe away dust and stains from the sensor surface;
    (3) After the anhydrous ethanol has completely evaporated, close the top cover and test the machine again.
    3. Clean the printing rollers
    The printing rollers should be cleaned if any of the following conditions occur with the printer:
    (1) The printing is unclear;
    (2) A certain column of the printed page is not clear in the vertical direction;
    (3) The paper feeding noise is loud.
    The steps for cleaning the printing rollers are as follows:
    (1) Turn off the printer power and open the top cover;
    (2) Wipe away dust and stains on the surface of the printing roller with a soft cotton cloth dampened with neutral detergent (wrung out).
    (3) After the cleaning agent has completely evaporated, close the top cover.
    Notice
    (1) Ensure that the power is turned off during routine printer maintenance.
    (2) Do not touch the surface of the print head with your hands or metal objects. Do not use tweezers or other tools to scratch the surface of the print head, printing roller and sensor.
    (3) Gasoline, acetone and other organic solvents must not be used.
    (4) Wait for the anhydrous ethanol to completely evaporate before turning on the power to continue printing.
